As a logistics leader, Alan has a reputation for reducing transportation costs while at the same time improving services.
Alan began his logistics career in the UK with Raychem Corporation while he was responsible for the European distribution of Raychem’s electronic products, which included products for industrial, telecommunication, utilities, defense, aerospace, automotive and medical markets. Alan acquired a great deal of experience servicing this disparate set of market needs.
In 2000, Alan joined SanDisk Corporation and moved to the US. At the time, SanDisk was developing operations in Asia and beginning an incredible growth cycle. Alan gained great experience of the needs of the high-tech industry, setting up end of factory shipping processes in Asia for the global transportation of SanDisk’s products.
While working for SanDisk, Alan was a member of a small team of supply chain professionals whose task was to set up global retail supply chain operations to meet the rapidly expanding growth in demand for SanDisk products. In the last few years with SanDisk Alan was responsible for staffing and developing the global logistics operation to significantly reduce transportation costs.
Alan believes in partnerships. While rate negotiations are always important, the most significant improvements are the result of designing and executing optimal transport solutions. Alan has developed a keen sense of many service providers strengths and, with this knowledge, can best match these strengths to the meet clients key objectives.
